Kudovia (“Kudovia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Kudovia Shopify application and related website and support services. This Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information through those services.

Information we process

Kudovia may process the following categories of information:

• Merchant and store information, including store name, contact information, Shopify store identifiers, app settings, subscription status, and support communications.
• Customer and order information needed to operate a merchant’s referral program, including customer name, email address, Shopify identifiers, order information, referral activity, and reward information.
• Basic technical, usage, and security information generated when the app is used.

We receive this information from Shopify, merchants, customers, and the operation of the app.

Kudovia does not require customer phone numbers or shipping or billing addresses to provide its core referral-program functionality.

How we use information

Kudovia uses personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide and operate the app.
• Track referrals and administer referral points and rewards.
• Deliver referral-program communications requested by merchants.
• Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and support the app.
• Manage subscriptions and communicate with merchants.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Where applicable, we process information to perform our contract with a merchant, comply with legal obligations, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or based on consent where required.

For merchant account, website, and support information, Kudovia acts as the party responsible for the processing. For customer and order information received through a merchant’s Shopify store, the merchant is generally responsible for the processing, and Kudovia processes the information on the merchant’s behalf and according to the merchant’s instructions.

Referral tracking

Kudovia may use cookies or similar technologies as necessary to attribute referrals and provide the app’s referral functionality. Kudovia does not use this information for unrelated advertising.

How we disclose information

Kudovia may disclose personal information to:

• Shopify, as necessary to provide the app through the Shopify platform.
• Service providers that support functions such as application hosting, data storage, email delivery, security, and customer support.
• Services connected or selected by a merchant, at the merchant’s direction.
• Government authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, or security.
• A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the business or its assets.

Service providers may process personal information only as necessary to provide services to Kudovia or as otherwise permitted by law.

Kudovia does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Data retention

Kudovia retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Information may be deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about how your information is used.

Customers of a Shopify merchant should generally direct requests concerning their store account or orders to that merchant. Kudovia will assist merchants and respond to valid requests received directly or through Shopify as required by applicable law.

You may also have the right to complain to an applicable privacy or data-protection authority.

International processing

Personal information may be processed in countries other than the country where it was collected. Where required, Kudovia uses appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date at the top of the policy. Changes become effective when posted, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
